Welcome to the first installment of what is to be a 5 month long blog detailing my latest adventure. For those of you that don't know, I am headed to Indonesia for 5 months. I will be heading to a remote island in the Aceh Province of Sumatra
(The large land mass pictured to the right).
It is located in the Banyak Island chain on the south point of Tuanggku Island, commonly referred to by surfers as The Bay of Plenty!
While there, I will be working as a surf guide and photographer for a newly founded surfing eco-resort called the Banyak Island Lodge. We are the ONLY hut on our island, with the nearest town being a 30 minute boat ride away on nearby Balai Island.
The goals of my trip are to capture incredible images, explore new waves, and live off the land as much as possible by fishing and farming.
